Wild Canary hosts an Eggtra Eggciting Producer’s Luncheon

Wild Canary, one of my all time favourite food haunts in all of Brisbane, came up with the concept of hosting Producer’s Luncheons where guests are able to meet local producers. Owners, Scott and Robin McLay, have hosted several of these luncheons where guests are able to meet and connect with the producer’s themselves. Every luncheon menu is based around one core ingredient, to showcase just how versatile the produce can be in a variety of sweet and savoury dishes. The key idea behind this concept is to inform and educate guests about every aspect of the produce and to showcase the ways in which the ingredient can be used in the kitchen.

I was fortunate enough to attend the Humble Egg Producer’s Lunch where Tim from Eggcettera Poultry Farm in Allora, joined us to chat about free-range and sustainable poultry farming. To read more on Eggcettera Eggs, click on the link here: www.eggcettera.com.

The next Producer’s Luncheon will be held on March 18 and will feature Queensland Lime Caviar producer, Ian Douglas from Lime Caviar Company. Chef Glen Barratt has designed a 5 course degustation menu around this this exotic fruit. Tickets for the Producer’s Lunch are $65 per person.
