Anouk Cafe, Paddington

Nestled in amongst the boutique hub of Paddington on Given Terrace, Anouk Cafe is only a stone's throw away from Brissy's CBD and is a popular foodie spot. Their extensive breakfast menu offers unique combinations of ingredients that you wouldn't come across at other cafes and runs all day with a few lunch selections thrown in. Their sweets cabinet is filled with an abudance of baked goodies, all made on the premises of course. Merlo coffee beans are used at Anouk but if you're not a coffee fiend, their muddled fruit and fizz drinks are a light and refreshing alternative that you MUST TRY! (I'm a huge fan of the lemon, lime and sparkling apple!!!!)

With so many eateries to choose from in Paddington, this cafe is a stand out for me. Anouk is always experimenting with different ingredients and regularly change up their menu so you're bound to see something new and exciting to eat with every return. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the food is always consistent and good quality.

Savoury Harissa spiced Mince and Poached Eggs on Sourdough:

The mince on this dish was packed full of flavour and the silky egg yolks burst with the firm touch of a butter knife (as promised!). Depending how you like your mince, I thought the dish could've done with a good dollop of sour cream. As Manu would say, "Where is ze sauce?"

Smashed Avocado and Fetta and Poached Eggs on Sourdough with a Corn and Capicum Salsa: This dish originally featured on the specials menu, but left Anouk regulars crawling back for more, so was bought back by popular demand. I was so glad one of the staff members recommended it. Anouk has really hit the nail on the head with this reinvention of smashed avo on toast!
